Before you start putting on the carbon fiber trim cover, you gotta make sure you've got these things ready: a clean rag, some alcohol or a cleaner you usually use, and the carbon fiber piece you're gonna put on.
Installation Steps:
-
Clean the Spot: Spray just the right amount of alcohol or cleaner onto the part of your car where you're gonna stick the carbon fiber thing. You wanna make sure that area gets covered real well. The whole point of this is to get rid of any grease, dirt or other junk on the surface, so your carbon fiber piece can stick on nice and tight later.
-
Dry it Off: Grab that clean rag and wipe the area you just sprayed until it's bone dry and squeaky clean. There shouldn't be any liquid or dirt left behind. Only when it's clean like that can your carbon fiber thing really hold on.
-
Get the Product Ready: Carefully take out the carbon fiber piece from its package. Be careful not to scratch or mess it up while you're doing it. And also, check if it's all in one piece and there are no flaws.
-
Peel off the Backing Film: Gently pull off all the protective film on the back of the carbon fiber piece. Do it slow and steady so you don't get any dust or crumbs on the sticky part and screw up the sticking.
-
Stick it on Right: Now, line up the carbon fiber piece, which you've just peeled the film off, with the right spot on your car. Then slowly lay it down and press it on. Big tip here: This step is super important! You gotta get it in the right place the first time. Don't go back and forth sticking it on, because every time you do that, the stickiness of the tape goes down and it won't hold as well in the end.
-
Press it Down Good: After you've got it stuck on, use your hands to press all over the carbon fiber piece evenly and hard. You want to make it fit snugly against the car's surface so the 3M tape can do its job and keep the trim cover firmly in place.
-
Wipe the Surface: Grab that clean rag again and give the surface of the carbon fiber piece a gentle wipe. This'll get rid of any dust or fingerprints that might've got on there while you were installing it, and make it look all shiny and new.
-
Clean up the Mess: Once you're done installing, don't forget to pick up the protective film you peeled off, the plastic bags and the cardboard box. Keep your space nice and clean.
Congratulations! You have successfully installed the carbon fiber trim cover. Your DIY skills are really amazing! I believe nothing can stump you.
